Telling tales about he tried so hard to enter Aussie Idol back in the day and how he just couldn’t get why those judges wouldn’t give him that ticket to the next round.

Sledneck! with Cameron Hicks
Cameron Hicks (along with Tyler Hicks, his bro) are one awesome duo. They hooked us up breaking trail for us, loaning a setup and taught us a whole bunch about the do-s and don’ts of sledding in the backcountry.

Matt Sedunary hit’s up the new park. Right now snow isn’t as epic as it will be says owner ‘Derek’, BUT by early next week it should be blanketed in 25cm of fresh everywhere!
Poor guys had some bad weather and bad delivery drivers holding back the amount of snow that could be made this week, BUT that changes this weekend onwards! Either way check out the place. It’s seriously one of the raddest projects I’ve ever seen put from paper to a real life place to shred. It’s indoors and rain, hail, thunderstorm, windhold or shine it’s open to shred.

2011 was a strange winter in Australia. We didn’t have much snow at the start but with one week of cold just before the school holidays started the season looked more than promising. We got puked on yew! A few weeks later and parks were being built around the country. Problem was the snow stopped there. Competitions had sunny weather wherever you went which was great news but it seemed as soon as NZ started getting snow AUS just got dribbles of rain. Still with some sunshine late august and early september there’s been a bunch of good times thats made the season pretty damn fun.
Just a few laps before the catching some slush toe edge to putting myself in hospital.

Falls Creek’s ‘Big Air’ – A few laps with Matto Smith
It’s a wrap peoples! Falls Creek Big Air! With the first clear day of competition of the last 3 years the Falls Creek Big Air went off without a hitch. From bluebird morning to greybird afternoon the guys and gals killed it!
Men’s first place Mat Galina, 2nd place Kieran McLaughlin and 3rd place Matto Smith! yew!
Also Jade McJannett was on fire for the woman’s devision with a smooth as frontside 540!
Here’s a few laps follow cam with 3rd place Matto Smith. Matto who spends the nights building the park with fellow local legend Mr Reuben Cameron came third place with a solid back 7 and cab 7.
Alex Duckworth – Blackcomb Park
Got a chance to shred and film some laps with this awesome Canadian lady for a couple of days. Sends it off jumps, goes huge in the pipe and even enjoys a jib or two. Yeah Alex!

And it’s a wrap. All done aye! 3 and a bit months of snowboarding and filming around Europe and Canada visiting so many places and filming so much snowboarding. Good times in Czech with Snowboarder Aus&NZ, Germany & Austria with the 3CS crew, Sweden for a quick week fun shred and checking out city park Hammarbybacken with buddy Birk, and then Canada, woahh canada is nice, bit of sunshine, a bit more cloud, a LOT of snow. Biggi White, Nelson, Kelowna, and a bunch of fun in Whistler and Vancouver!
And it’s less than a month till Falls Creek and the start of the Australian season!

The Neil Edgeworth Banked Slalom @ Big White
A day (or two) at the races!
A few weeks back Mat, Jason & Dan competed in the 14th Annual Neil Edgeworth Memomorial Banked slalom up at Big White this year.
The weekend had spectacular weather with not a cloud in the sky.

So the last few days have been pretty average. Cloudy, foggy, whiteout, windy.. not so good to film hammers.
But with some fresh snow overnight, my homie Simon Chataway and I went out with the Go-Pro for some fun laps.
Night shred. City park. Hammarbybacken.
A week in stockholm, fresh snow, a city park thats open till 10 pm 6 days a week! pretty awesome by the sounds of it.
Come check out this rad little resort called Hammarbybacken. It’s part of the Skistar group of scandinavian resorts and its just 15 minutes by train to the center of stockholm which is party central as well.
CALI TRIP HIGHLIGHTS _ THE YEAR THAT WAS
So when you’re looking forward to the next summer (correction winter) abroad and want to re visit those old DVDs from winters gone by, you can look at a whole number of international movies with professional riders and the like, BUT… what you can’t look at is at a highlights edit of a 6 week trip from early 20ten and say ‘hey, I know those guys!’
Well now you can! Olliepop Films, momentarily in the home town of Coopers Ales, has brought you a re-mixed, re-edited, re-lived edit of awesomeness to get you totally stoked on the next winters shred!
6 weeks of shred around Lake Tahoe and a road trip to June Mountain! It was not a bad way to get some hot laps in!

30 Seconds With_
Hey all, I wanted to make an edit that showed that even though a rider doesn’t win a competition it doesn’t mean he didn’t have a mad shred.
Alex Cordingly’s riding was solid all day and had mad style.
Style I think which really is what filming is all about. You take that shot over and over when doing a shoot to get the perfect shot of a trick with maximum style.
In a competition though you just have to capture with one try. Alex got a fair few I was stoked on.
